
Bloomberg Government has hired Torrence Banks as a reporter covering Capitol Hill.
He will start later this month.
Banks currently covers the Trump administration, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the South for NOTUS.
Banks received his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College, where he majored in English, and earned his graduate degree from the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
At UMD’s Howard Center for Investigative Journalism, he reported on multiple projects including an investigation into historical newspaper coverage of lynchings and racial torture. He was an intern with U.S. News & World Report, and his reporting has appeared in the Miami Herald, AFRO American Newspapers and Capital News Service.
