Mike Bird, Asia business and finance editor for The Economist, is moving to New York in 2025 to cover Wall Street and U.S. finance for the publication.
Bird joined The Economist in Singapore in 2021. He writes about capital markets, economic development and major corporations across the region.
Bird previously worked for The Wall Street Journal in London and Hong Kong as a reporter and financial columnist.
He previously worked in the London office of Business Insider, where he worked as a European markets and economics correspondent from the time of its launch in the summer of 2014.
Before then, he worked at City A.M, a free business and finance newspaper in London, after studying history and politics at Exeter University.
