Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo has complained to Wall Street Journal editor in chief Emma Tucker that the paper isn’t mentioning her when writing up comments from her show, reports Lachlan Cartwright of Breaker.
Cartwright reports, “After Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Bartiromo on her show that China had agreed to purchase 12 million metric tons of American soybeans, a Journal news editor alerted colleagues that a reporter was dutifully writing the comments up.
“‘Do me a favor and cite Maria, whatever her name is, or she complains to Emma,’ Breaking News Chief, Jenna Telesca, soon responded, showing Fox may want to better promote their ’70 million dollar woman’ internally.
“In another exchange amongst the breaking news staff, an editor asks, ‘Do we spell out Maria Bartiromo and her show name? I can’t remember or just show name.’
“It only took Telesca three minutes to respond, ‘Please put her name in it. It is annoying, but saves us some grief.’
“And sure enough, a cursory search shows Journal reporters giving Bartiromo a good plug.”
