Avila hired as editor for Industry Dive’s Supply Chain Dive

Larry Avila

Larry Avila has been hired as an editor for Industry Dive’s Supply Chain Dive.

He previously was the editor of the Northwest Indiana Business Magazine.

Before that, he had been a business reporter/editor at the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison, and the business editor of the Times of Northwest Indiana in Munster.

Avila had previously been a senior communications specialist for Milwaukee’s public schools. Before that, he was editor of New North B2B, a monthly business-to-business magazine serving northeastern Wisconsin.

Avila was business editor of the Appleton Post-Crescent in Wisconsin from June 2006 to July 2013. Before that, he was business editor of the Naperville Sun in Illinois.

He has also been managing editor of The Business Ledger in Oak Brook, Illinois, and editor of The Business Journal in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Avila is a graduate of Central Michigan University.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
