Associated Press global business editor Noreen Gillespie announced that Taiwo Adebayo will join AP to cover the intersection of climate and business in Africa:
Taiwo Adebayo joins us from the Premium Times of Nigeria, where he is the investigations and data editor. He has deep knowledge about climate, business and how both topics intersect with vulnerable communities in Nigeria and West Africa.
He has experience on ambitious multiformat climate and business projects, including leading reporting for Nigerian stories as part of the Panama Papers and Pandora Papers investigations with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. He has won investigative awards in Nigeria and Ford Foundation grants to report on climate issues. He will be based in Abuja and report to Courtney Bonnell, business editor for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and collaborate closely with the climate team.
He begins June 1. Please join us in welcoming him to AP!
