CNBC hires Sukri as weekend editor for international

CNBC has hired Azhar Sukri in the international newsroom as a weekend editor.

Based in London, Sukri will oversee CNBC International’s digital output on the weekend.

“We’re excited to welcome Azhar into our newsroom,” said Spriha Srivastava, vice president and executive editor of digital for CNBC International, in a statement. “As news increasingly breaks outside the traditional weekday cycle, Azhar’s combined TV and digital experience will strengthen our ability to deliver trusted and timely coverage for global audiences every weekend.”

Sukri brings more than two decades of international journalism experience, spanning senior leadership, editorial, and on-air roles across Reuters, The Associated Press, Al Jazeera, Bloomberg, TRT World, and supported The Wall Street Journal and Boston Consulting Group in freelance digital and editorial capacities.

He graduated from The University of Wales, Cardiff with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
