“Press Profiles” host Russell Sherman interviewed Bloomberg Television anchor Romaine Bostick about his career, which is approaching 25 years at the organization.
Bostick arrives in the office usually by 7:30 a.m. for his show, which airs at 3 p.m., to read about what has happened overnight.
“I like having the time because it does give you the time to digest,” said Bostick. “… And then parse out what you think is moving the market.”
Bostick is a big believer in using data to base his show instead of just giving opinions. “At Bloomberg we are spoiled rotten because we have a wealth of data,” he said.
He gravitates toward guests who can talk about data and who can back up their opinions based on factual information. He uses data to ask questions for those on his show. He once spearheaded a Bloomberg data mining project on more than 45,000 companies globally to monitor anomalies in earnings and cash flow trends.
Bostick co-hosts Bloomberg Television’s “The Close” from New York. Additionally, Bostick helps lead cross-asset financial market coverage across all Bloomberg News platforms. Prior to joining Bloomberg Television, Bostick helped foster and manage the Bloomberg terminal’s TOPLive blogging platform as a newsroom editor.
