Timothy Williams will join The New York Times as a senior staff editor to work with the weekend staff members on Saturdays and four nights during the week.
Recently, Williams served as deputy style and standards editor at Vox. There, he oversaw a team of copy editors, conducted newsroom training and introduced standards for data visualizations and graphics.
He also edited political stories and wrote culture stories.
Previously, Williams worked at the Times as a news assistant from 2011 to 2015. From 2015 to 2017, he served as a copy editor in Metro and Sports.
