The Wichita Eagle has tapped Marcia Werts as managing editor. Werts has been with the Eagle since 1998, and has held various editing roles, including serving as metro editor. She has also worked from Wichita for the Sacramento-based McClatchy Co., The Eagle’s parent company.
She has served as features editor at Fort Wayne Newspapers and was an assistant city editor at The Colorado Springs Gazette.
“I want to see Wichita have strong journalism, and I think The Eagle is the place that has consistently provided that and will continue to provide it,” Werts said.
