Barnes to join The Independent as deputy registered audience editor

Becky Barnes will be joining The Independent as deputy registered audience editor. She begins Jan. 17.

Until recently, Barnes was a freelancer. She has previously worked at the HuffPost, where she has was social media editor and audience editor. She also served as a BT.com news reporter and social media journalist/multimedia reporter at the Press Association.

She was also a reading post/Bracknell Times senior reporter at Trinity Mirror Southern and a trainee journalist at Brighton Journalist Works. She has also written for BBC Blast Youth Panel.

Barnes holds a bachelor’s degree in English and American literature from the University of Kent and a diploma in journalism from Brighton Journalist Works.
