The Washington Post has named Jennifer Amur as its next deputy foreign editor. In her new role, Amur will lead the daily coverage and oversee the Post’s six regional editors and a breaking news/newsletter team in Washington.
Amur joined the Post in 2014, first as an editor on the home page, then overseeing the Post’s newsletters and alerts. She then moved to the Foreign desk as a digital editor and recently, held the post of South Asia and Africa editor.
She has also worked as an online producer and then as a digital projects designer/producer at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. She initially got her start as an editor at the Hürriyet Daily News, an English-language newspaper in Istanbul.
Amur is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a B.A. in journalism.
