WaPo hires Zhou as graphics reporter/developer

Youyou Zhou

Youyou Zhou has joined The Washington Post’s Opinion section as a graphics reporter/developer. Since September 2020, she has been freelancing.

Recently, Zhou was a senior data editor at Vox.com. Before that, she covered immigration and global migration for Quartz.

She was also an interactive news developer at The Associated Press.

As per the Post:

“Her news design and data visualization work has been recognized by the Society of News Design and the Information is Beautiful Awards. She was a recipient of the McGraw Fellowship for Business Journalism and a Pulitzer Center grantee.”

From 2008 to 2010, Zhou attended Fudan University and received her B.A. From 2010 to 2012, she studied at the University of Missouri-Columbia to receive her bachelor’s degree. She also has a M.A. from the School of Visual Arts.
