The Washington Post has tapped Jason Murray to serve as a sports editor. He joined the Post in August 2020 as an assignment editor to guide coverage of the NBA and WNBA, men’s and women’s college sports, tennis and auto racing.
Previously, Murray worked as director of audience and visuals at syracuse.com.
He also managed the sports department for syracuse.com/The Post-Standard, where he had also served as an assistant sports editor and sports editor.
He also wrote marketing copy and led projects that promoted new products and increased usability for the student banking website and the credit card website at Bank of America.
Murray has a bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary’s College of California and a master’s degree from Syracuse University.
