Vevea swaps WBEZ-FM for Chalkbeat

Becky Vevea

Becky Vevea will join Chalkbeat Chicago as its bureau chief. She comes from WBEZ -FM 91.5, Chicago’s NPR news station, where she recently served as a political reporter. Before that, she served as an education reporter.

Vevea also worked as an education reporter at the Chicago News Cooperative and was a reporter at Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. She has also interned at Madison Magazine and USA Today.

Vevea has a B.A. in journalism and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
