Vox.com has named Elbert Ventura its executive editor. He will begin his new role in January. As per Vox:
“In his new role, Ventura will oversee the text newsroom, ensuring that Vox’s journalism brings its audience clarity and understanding with every text story it publishes, whether it’s coverage of major news moments or an evergreen story that sparks curiosity.”
Since August 2023, Ventura has been editor-in-chief of the nonprofit Chronicle of Philanthropy. Previously, Ventura worked at Vox.com as a senior policy editor.
He served as an associate editor at The Chronicle of Higher Education, and held the posts of managing editor at Democracy, A Journal of Ideas, and the Progressive Policy Institute.
Ventura has a B.A. from Brown University and an M.A. from George Washington University.
