Robert McNamara is now deputy news editor at The Echo Newspaper, Cork. He has been with the company for more than 3 years, joining as a news reporter and then serving as assistant news editor before being promoted to his recent post of deputy news editor.
Prior to joining The Echo, McNamara was a digital journalist at the Irish Examiner.
He has also worked as a freelancer with his work being published in The Irish Examiner, The Sunday Times, The Corkman, The Tullamore Tribune, The Midland Tribune, The Limerick Leader, The Limerick Post, The Clare Champion, The City Voice, The Limerick Voice, Changing Ireland magazine and United We Stand football magazine.
He has also written for music websites.
He has also served as a radio presenter at ULFM.ie and worked as a sports editor at both The Limerick Voice and An Focal. He was also a news editor and journalist at Changing Ireland and has been a design editor for Craic Addict Magazine.
Additionally, he has also worked at Maplin Electronics, JJB Sports and Champion Sports.
McNamara is a B.A. in journalism and new media from the University of Limerick.
