Telemundo Colorado announces two weather team promotions

Niurma Sánchez

KDEN Telemundo Colorado has promoted Niurma Sánchez to chief meteorologist. The station also expanded José Luis Quevedo’s role as meteorologist.

Sánchez has been KDEN’s meteorologist for more than six years. Quevedo started at the Denver station in 2021 as web editor.

An award-winning broadcast meteorologist, Sánchez joined Telemundo Colorado in 2017.She previously worked briefly as a meteorologist at Telemundo 51 in Miami. Before that, she spent two years as a weather forecaster at the Cuban Institute of Meteorology.

José Luis Quevedo

Prior to KDEN, Quevedo worked as meteorologist at the Institute of Meteorology of Cuba.
