Telemundo 60 appoints Vázquez chief meteorologist

Ariel Rivera Vázquez

Ariel Rivera Vázquez has been promoted to chief meteorologist at KVDA Telemundo 60.

The promotion comes six years since he joined the San Antonio station as weekday weather anchor.

While at KVDA, he earned a certificate in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University in 2020. He previously worked at Telemundo Denver as a weather anchor from 2015 to 2017.

Before that, Rivera Vázquez spent 13 years as a news and weather anchor and traffic reporter at WAPA TV in his native Puerto Rico, where he also worked as a radio news anchor for several stations.
