Baton Rouge TV station hires Epperson as evening anchor

Andrew Epperson

Andrew Epperson has joined Baton Rouge, La., Fox affiliate WGMB as an anchor.

Epperson co-anchors the 5:30 and 9 p.m. newscasts with Christina Jensen, chief meteorologist Ashley Ruiz and sports director Brian Holland.

“I can’t say how excited I am to have Andrew Epperson become a part of our news team and family,” said John Walton, news director for NBC Local 33 News/Fox 44 News. “His skills as a reporter will serve him well as an anchor and help tell all the great stories the capital region has to offer.”

Before joining WGMB, Epperson was the state capitol reporter for KARK in Little Rock, Ark.

“It’s a true honor to join the incredible community here in Baton Rouge and surrounding cities,” Epperson said. “I fell in love with this area immediately, and I’m thrilled for this opportunity. Excited to meet everyone and dive right in.”
