Jim Rosica has rejoined the Tallahassee Democrat as a news director. Commenting on his new role, he said:
“I’m gratified to be back where everybody knows my name. There still are plenty of familiar faces in the newsroom but also a lot of new talent. I’m looking forward to working with old colleagues and helping mentor the next generation of journalists.”
Rosica has previously worked at the Democrat from 1997 to 2005 as a city hall and courts reporter. More recently, he served as news director from 2019 to 2022.
He joins from City & State Florida, where he served as editor-in-chief. He was a senior editor at FloridaPolitics.com, and has also worked at The Associated Press.
Rosica has a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey-New Brunswick and a master’s degree from American University.
