The South Bend Tribune has added a new reporter to its staff dedicated to coverage of high school athletics in Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan.
Austin Hough, 28, joined the sports staff on Monday, July 3, 2023 and will lead the Tribune in communicating compelling content about prep athletes, coaches and events to both print and digital readers.
A 2017 graduate of the University of Missouri, Hough (pronounced Huff), spent nearly five years on the staff of The Goshen News, and was promoted to sports editor in September 2020.
“I’m excited to start my time at the South Bend Tribune,” Hough said. “I will bring energy and excitement to this job. High school sports is the heartbeat of many communities, and my goal is to promote our local athletes and highlight their incredible stories to our readers.”
In addition high school sports, Hough will contribute to the Tribune’s coverage of Notre Dame athletics. The Chicago-area native also covered Fighting Irish programs for Goshen and CNHI.
