Recently, she was at Connecticut-based Recod-Journal, where she joined as a freelance writer and then served as a reporter. She also reported for News21.
She was an arts and life editor and then served as managing editor of The Quinnipiac Chronicle, Quinnipiac University student paper.
Simms has a B.A. and M.S. in journalism from Quinnipiac University.
