The Texas Tribune has hired Alejandro Serrano as a general assignment reporter on the breaking news team. Serrano starts on September 26.
He served as an education reporter at the Houston Chronicle and worked on its metro desk, where he contributed to pandemic coverage. He was a breaking news reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle and SFGATE.
He interned at the Chicago Tribune Media Group as a part-time metro correspondent, and was a Globe South correspondent at The Boston Globe.
Serrano has a B.A. in journalism from Northeastern University.
