The Seattle Times has tapped Jim Ryan as assistant metro editor, leading coverage of criminal justice issues and institutions. He joins from The Oregonian/OregonLive.com, where he recently served as a breaking news editor.
Previously, Ryan served as editor-in-chief of The Post Athens in Ohio and was an intern at The Columbus Dispatch and The Alpena News in Michigan.
He was also a radio host at WOUB Public Media, a public radio station network in Athens, Ohio.
Ryan has a B.S. in journalism from Ohio University.
