The Guardian US has tapped Danielle Renwick to serve as an editor of climate and environmental justice stories.
Recently, Renwick was editor of Nexus Media News, a nonprofit newsroom that focuses on climate change. Before that, she was a project editor at The Guardian US. There, she partnered with Kaiser Health News and worked with journalists on a year-long data and investigative project to report on frontline healthcare workers lost to the pandemic.
She also worked as an editor at think tank Brennan Center for Justice in New York, and served as executive editor of ExplorePartsUnknown.com, the online component of Anthony Bourdain’s CNN program.
Renwick served as a senior editor of its sister site, Roads & Kingdoms, where she assigned and edited food, politics, and travel features. And at the Council of Foreign Relations, the award-winning journalism arm of a foreign policy think tank, she worked as a copy editor.
Renwick has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from New York University and a master’s degree in urban and social policy from Columbia University.
