The following excerpt announcement was sent out from Politico:
As we continue to build stand-out journalism in this critical political year, we are thrilled to announce the promotion of Jenny Ament to the role of Executive Producer of Audio. In this role, she will guide all elements of POLITICO’s audio offerings – ranging from short-form podcasts to longer-form narrative journalism and new audio experiments – to deliver distinctive content that our audiences can’t find anywhere else.
Since taking on the role of interim executive producer in December, she has led the audio team with grace and grit. In the coming year, Jenny will work with the newsroom to further evolve our portfolio of audio offerings (both within and outside the podcast format) to fully leverage and reflect POLITICO’s unique journalistic strengths and serve our specific influential audience.
Jenny is a native of Alabama and a veteran of CNN, NPR, and regularly contributed to a range of shows, including McSweeney’s The Organist and The Washington Post’s Edge of Fame. Jenny joined POLITICO in 2018 as a producer and has since helped design and launch several audio products, trained and developed producers in the craft of audio, and has worked collaboratively with a variety of teams to grow our listenership, build external partnerships, and enhance our journalism.
