Adam Playford has joined The New York Times as an editor based with The Upshot. He will play a key role in projects throughout the newsroom.
Playford joins from The Tampa Bay Times where he had worked for more than 5 years, joining as director of data and enterprise. He then became deputy investigations editor, and then an investigations editor.
Recently, he held the post of deputy editor, investigations at the newspaper.
He has also worked as a reporter at Newsday and The Palm Beach Post. He has also served as editor-in-chief of Washington Square News.
Playford is a graduate of New York University.
