The Bismarck Tribune has hired Brad Nygaard as a reporter to cover public safety issues, law enforcement and the court system. He brings decades of experience to the newsroom.

Recently, Nygaard was a general assignment reporter and photographer at the Crosby Journal in North Dakota, where he worked for seven years. During his career at various outlets, including at TV stations in Memphis and Wichita, he has also held the posts of photographer, editor and field producer.

He said:

“Moving from video to print originally was really hard for me because they’re vastly different. But I’d like to think my transition has been relatively successful. To that end, I’m excited about coming to the Tribune. It has a great legacy of high-quality work.”

He has also been honored with several state and national awards for his reporting in print, TV and photography.

Nygaard graduated from the University of North Dakota.
