The New York Times has hired Bill Ruthhart as a writing coach and editor for its newsroom fellowship and early-career programs.
He begins Jan. 24.
Ruthhart joins from the Chicago Tribune, where he had worked for over 11 years, most recently as a political reporter. Other roles he has held at the Tribune include Watchdog reporter and City Hall reporter.
He was also with The Indianapolis Star for over 8 years, where he served as a suburban reporter and then as a statehouse reporter.
Ruthhart has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Eastern Illinois University.
