NY Times receives 11 front page awards from the Newswomen’s Club of New York

The New York Times has been honored with 11 front page awards from the Newswomen’s Club of New York, which recognize exceptional work by newswomen in the New York metropolitan area.

The winners were:

  • Nikita Stewart won the Ida B. Wells Award, which recognizes coverage focusing on issues specifically relevant to communities of color
  • Emma Goldberg won the Martha Coman Award for Best New Journalist, which recognizes work by a newswoman with up to three years of professional experience
  • Amy Padnani, Veronica Chambers and Anika Burgess won the Newspaper: Feature award
  • Kashmir Hill won the Newspaper: Investigative Reporting category
  • A reporting team including Allison McCann and edited by Simone Landon, won in the Online: Multimedia Package category.
  • Morrigan McCarthy won the Photo Editing category
  • My Blood,” an episode of “The Weekly” directed and produced by Samantha Stark and reported by Gina Kolata that documents the journey of the youngest person to have her DNA reset in an attempt to cure her sickle cell disease, won the Documentary: Short Form category
  • Kassie Bracken, Emily Rhyne, Sameen Amin and Solana Pyne won the Online: Digital Video category
  • Pam Belluck won the Specialized Reporting: Medicine, Health, Fitness category
  • Emily Flitter won the Specialized Reporting: Business category
  • Taffy Brodesser-Akner won the Specialized Reporting: Arts category
