NY Times hires Mahr as deputy international editor

Krista Mahr

The New York Times has tapped Krista Mahr to serve as deputy international editor. Recently, she was a reporter at Politico, where she covered public health and the C.D.C.

Previously, Mahr was a senior editor in Time Magazine’s Washington bureau, where she focused on national security and foreign policy coverage.

She also contributed to NPR, the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Dow Jones Newswires and the Associated Press.

She served as South Asia correspondent at Thomson Reuters and worked at Time Magazine as a correspondent and South Asia bureau chief from December 2011 to June 2014.

She was also as a reporter and associate editor at the magazine.

Mahr has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
