The Mirror editor and Leeds alumna Alison Phillips (History and Politics 1993) will chair a panel talk with top female journalists based in Yorkshire.
Alison will be joined by Rozina Breen, editor-in-chief and CEO of The Bureau of Investigative Journalism and former head of BBC North; Louisa Compton, head of news and current affairs and sport at Channel 4; and Laura Collins, former editor of the Yorkshire Evening Post newspaper, and now publisher at National World.
The event sees her return to the University her journey began, where she’ll discuss a range of topics including how to promote yourself and your career in journalism. It presents an opportunity for students, staff and alumni to hear from experienced journalists at the top of the profession.
Prior to the event, Alison will give a talk to students about scoops, show business and sourcing the news.
