ABC station WAPT-TV Ch. 16 in Jackson, Miss. has hired Cheryl Stroy as assistant news director. Recently, she held the post of executive producer at WVTM-TV Ch. 13, an NBC station in Birmingham, Ala.
Previously, Stroy held the same post at WNCT-TV Ch. 9, a CBS- and CW Plus affiliate in Greenville, N.C. and was a news producer at ABC outlet WBRZ-TV Ch. 2 in Baton Rouge, La.
She also worked as an associate producer at KSLA-TV Ch. 12, a CBS affiliate in Shreveport, La.
Stroy has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge.
