The Irish Times has appointed Simon Carswell to the post of news editor. Recently, he served as a public affairs editor.
Carswell has been with the Times for more than 15 years. He joined in September 2007 as a finance correspondent. He then held the posts of Washington correspondent and news correspondent.
Prior to joining the Times, he worked at The Sunday Business Post as a reporter and news editor.
Carswell has a B.A. from Trinity College Dublin and a master’s degree from Dublin Institute of Technology.
