McLean worked at the Society of Professional Journalists. She freelanced for the Washington Post’s The Lily, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Hechinger Report and Higher Ed Drive.
She was a staff reporter at The Chronicle of Higher Education and an investigative reporter at ThinkProgress.
She was a news correspondent at the Boston Globe.
McLean has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Hofstra University.
