The Chronicle reports:
“In her role, Matos will oversee the newsroom’s audience development teams as well as statewide content initiatives including a nine-person Austin bureau covering state government and politics, a statewide weather team and data team.”
Recently, Matos served as director of strategy and operations at Hearst, and then as senior director for audience development. Before that, she held the posts of newsletter strategist, senior audience development manager and deputy director of audience development at Wirecutter.
Previously, she worked at the Houston Chronicle from August 2017 to December 2018 in the roles of politics and government reporter, and Texas newsletter editor. She also reported for The Washington Post and the Star Tribune, where she held the posts of digital metro reporter, data visualization reporter, whistleblower columnist and education reporter.
