Michael Hinman has been appointed executive editor of the Herald Community Newspapers, succeeding Scott Brinton, who had led the editorial department since 2016. In his new role, Hinman will continue overseeing The Riverdale Press, where he has been editor since 2017.
The decision was announced by Stuart Richner, the CEO of Richner Communications Inc., and publisher of the newspaper group that also owns The Riverdale Press.
He was also a Tampa Bay reporter at the Business Observer and a news editor at The Laker/Lutz News in Florida. He was also a correspondent at The Tampa Bay Times and The Tampa Tribune.
He has also written for the Tampa Bay Business Journal and worked at other newspapers as well in various editorial and reporting roles.
