Grand Forks Herald has promoted business reporter Adam Kurtz to the post of community editor, a hybrid role focusing on newsroom initiatives and some management duties while still maintaining a reporting beat.
Later on, Kurtz will also be covering the University of North Dakota and higher education.
In his new role, Kurtz replaces Sydney Mook, who has been promoted to managing editor.
Kurtz has also worked at CNN Business, BuzzFeed, The New Yorker, Bustle, Teen Vogue, Thought Catalog, Houston Press, Post-Bulletin, Detroit Lakes Tribune, Agweek, Echo Press, Pine Journal and Yahoo News among many others.
Kurtz is a graduate of Grand Forks Central and UND.
