Florida TV station appoints Pontbriand sports anchor and reporter

Alessandra Pontbriand

Florida-based independent TV station WJXT-TV Ch. 4 has hired Alessandra Pontbriand as a sports anchor and reporter.

Previously, Pontbriand was an interim sports director at Springfield, Ill. stations WICS-TV Ch. 20 (an ABC affiliate) and WRSP-TV Ch. 55 (a Fox affiliate).

A former sports anchor and reporter, she also held the posts of production intern, producer trainee, sports reporter and weekend sports anchor at WVUA-TV Ch. 23,  owned and operated by the University of Alabama.

Pontbriand has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama.
