ESPN’s Huang departs for Philly Inquirer

Michael Huang

Michael Huang will be joining The Philadelphia Inquirer as managing editor for sports overseeing the publication’s sports coverage. The desk will focus on the city’s four major teams and school sports, with a larger emphasis on women’s sports.

Huang replaces Pat McLoon and begins on Apr. 19.

Huang will be joining from ESPN, where he holds the post of deputy editor. He has been with the network for more than 9 years, joining as a senior editor. He is also an adjunct professor of sports journalism at New York University.

Huang brings more than 25 years of sports media experience to The Inquirer.

In addition, he was also an adjunct professor at Post University. He was also manager, publications and creative services at Chicago Cubs. He has also written freelance for Sporting News Media, FIGHTERS ONLY Magazine and FIGHT! Media.

He was also a copy editor at Daily Herald Media Group.

Huang is a B.A. in journalism from Marquette University and a M.A. in writing from DePaul University.
