Just as Vox Media has cut 7 percent of its workforce, another publisher, Dotdash Meredith, has announced another unlucky 7 percent, a move that will impact 274 employees.
The owner of People, Better Homes & Gardens, InStyle and Travel + Leisure said that the decision stems from poor economic conditions.
“We are not immune to the broader challenges of the ad industry and of the economy as a whole, and today’s actions are a direct response to these realities,” CEO Neil Vogel told employees in a memo provided to CNN.
Vogel added that the affected employees will get severance and options for health insurance extensions. He will meet with employees on Monday to discuss the situation.
