Dallas Morning News editor Wilson resigns after 6 years

Mike Wilson

Mike Wilson will be resigning as editor of the Dallas Morning News after a six-year tenure. However, he will remain with the paper until the end of the year to assist with the transition.

Following the change, managing editor Keith Campbell will take over Wilson’s duties and Brendan Miniter, the editor of editorials, will lead the editorial board.

“Running a newspaper today is like swimming across a hot fudge river: You gorge yourself on the decadent pleasure of it, but you have to kick like hell to get to the other side,” Wilson wrote. “So I’m full, and I’m tired. My immediate plan is to just recharge.”

Wilson came to the Dallas Morning News from ESPN’s FiveThirtyEight, where he held the post of managing editor. Prior to that, he was managing editor of the Tampa Bay Times and also held the post of news features editor at the publication.

During his tenure at the Tampa Bay Times, he was also a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.

He has also served as a writer and editor at the Miami Herald.

Additionally, he has also worked for USA Today, Houston Chronicle, The Scotsman, Bleacher Report, AZCentral.com, Toronto Sun and more.
