Leslie Wilcox, president and chief executive officer of PBS Hawaii will be stepping down after 14 years. During her time, she co-led with the board chair a capital campaign for a new $30 million facility, which was delivered on time and fully paid for in 2016.
She also expanded local programming; co-founded HIKI NO, award-winning youth storytellers’ network; launched KAKOU — Hawai’i’s Town Hall, the Hawai’i literacy program GET CAUGHT READING, aloha&grit, and What’s It Going to Take? Forums on Making Life Better in Hawai’i.
She was also host of the weekly program “Long Story Short with Leslie Wilcox.”
Wilcox was also executive producer, news anchor and reporter for KHON2 – NBC/Fox. She was also news co-anchor of “Asia Now.”
She has also worked as an assistant news director, news anchor, reporter and newscast producer at KGMB9 – CBS. She was also a journalist at Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
Wilcox is a graduate of the University of Hawaii System.
