Barclay Crawford has taken on the role of executive editor of DailyMail.com in the US. He will be based in New York.
For the past six years, Crawford has been editor of Daily Mail Australia. Commenting on his new role, he said:
“Editing Daily Mail Australia has been the greatest privilege of my working life. We have built up an awesome team, developed some great digital journalists over the last decade, broken an incredible number of stories and are now third commercially in one of the most competitive media markets in the world. I can’t wait to join the team in New York at such a pivotal time in the news cycle.”
In his new role, he will report to Gerard Greaves, editor-in-chief of DailyMail.com US.
Previously, Crawford was a news editor at MailOnline and held the same post at The Sunday and Daily Telegraph. He worked as a political reporter at The Daily Telegraph and held the posts of senior reporter and news editor at the South China Morning Post.
He was a journalist at The Australian, where he worked for six years.
Crawford graduated from the University of Sydney.
