Suzanne Goldsmith, senior editor at Columbus Monthly magazine will leave on June 17. In a Twitter post, Goldsmith said she made the move “about 10 days before our corporate owner dished out a devastating round of layoffs at the Dispatch Magazine Group.”
She previously served as lead feature writer, covering politics, culture, arts and business and overseeing personal essays by a different writer each month. There, she won numerous statewide awards and has been nominated thrice for national awards.
She was self-employed for 22 years, working as a freelance journalist and communication specialist. Her work has appeared in The Washington Monthly, The American Prospect and more.
Additionally, she authored WASHASHORE, a novel for teens and CITY YEAR: On the Streets and In the Neighborhoods With Twelve Young Community Service Volunteers.
Goldsmith graduated from Harvard University.
