After a successful run as a Times fellow, The New York Times has named Troy Closson as a metro reporter.
Previously, he has worked as a reporting fellow at the Texas Tribune and as a metro reporting intern at the Chicago Sun-Times. He was also a reporting intern at Block Club Chicago and has written on occasion for ProPublica.
Closson is a B.S. in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where he was print managing editor of The Daily Northwestern.
