Andy Shain, managing editor for expansion at The Post and Courier in Charleston, S.C., is set to depart. His tweet reads:
“I am leaving The Post and Courier at the end the week and will start working at the University of South Carolina as a special assistant to the president focusing on strategic communications. I am excited about this new opportunity.”
Shain worked as an editor at Free Times and as a reporter and editor at The State Newspaper, where he worked for more than nine years.
He held the posts of Hickory bureau chief, assistant business editor and consumer writer/columnist at The Charlotte Observer, where he worked for 11 years, and also as a business editor and reporter at The Sun News.
Shain graduated from Northwestern University.
