The following announcement was sent out from the Washington Post’s deputy editorial page editor Ruth Marcus, op-ed page editor Mike Larabee and opinions editor Michael Duffy:
We’re delighted to announce that Autumn Brewington has agreed to join our team as an associate opinions editor.
This is a return engagement. Autumn joined The Post as an editing intern in 2001 and worked on the National and Financial staffs before joining Opinions in 2004. She became op-ed editor in 2007 and ably oversaw the op-ed page until 2014. She left to start an online commentary vertical at the Wall Street Journal and subsequently edited at Lawfare and worked on other projects before we persuaded her to come back to The Post on a contract basis earlier this year. She quickly made herself indispensable, and we are delighted that she will rejoin the Post staff.
As many of you know, Autumn is deeply expert in many fields, among them American foreign policy, the British royal family, cat care and international variations of Kit-Kat bars.
Please join us in welcoming Autumn to this important position.
