The Washington Post has hired Michael Blackmon as a comments editor. An excerpt from the announcement reads:
“Michael will serve as an advocate for our most engaged readers and will work to build trust and habits around Post journalism.
“In this role, Michael will deepen our relationship with some of our most dedicated subscribers by inviting their input — and responding to their ideas. Michael will foster and grow the community around our newsroom with an eye on welcoming new audiences.”
Previously, Blackmon worked at BuzzFeed for more than eight years. There, he served as an associate community editor, staff writer, breaking news reporter and culture writer.
Blackmon has a B.A. in broadcast journalism from UNC School of Media and Journalism.
