Rosemary Mercedes has been upped to SVP of Communications, Global Distribution at the BBC.
She starts the new role April 1.
She’ll oversee communications supporting the BBC brand and premium content produced by BBC Studios for all its channels and platforms.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled for this new global role,” Mercedes wrote on LinkedIn. “Our Global Distribution business is diversified, dynamic, and growing….Outside of the UK, the business footprint spans the world, including Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East & Africa, as well as the North America + Latin America regions. Ultimately, I’m motivated by purpose-driven brands, and the BBC Group is one of a kind on the global media stage. I am delighted to deepen my work with the company.”
Mercedes joined the company in 2022 as SVP of communications for BBC Studios Americas.
She previously spent more than 15 years in top corporate communication roles at Univision, exiting in 2021.
